Night Life in London

During our travel to London we learned to navigate the Tube system. This was a vital part of out trip, but not the main focus of my paper. I will be sharing my experience of the nightlife in London, and one night in Bath. We were able to experience rush hour on some travels and conquered navigating through extra crowded areas of Piccadilly and Oxford Street during a weekend of the Festival of Lights. A three-day festival occurred during our stay in larger, popular areas such as Piccadilly and Oxford Street. These areas displayed popular artwork from artist around the world. Some of it very unique in form such as the picture displayed below. I do not know what it is or who created it, I was unable to find this, but it was beautiful.

Once arriving to Piccadilly Circus from the Tube, we walked up the stairs from the Underground and our eyes were wide in amazement.  We had found the Time Square of London. There were people dodging in and out of other people trying to find the next deal in the surrounding retail store. We walking in to this square and across the way were a ginormous big screen with ads and logos. IT was a few stories tall, just as tall or taller than the buildings next to it.

On Oxford Street was were you wanted to be for shopping. Their shopping is not too much different than ours in America. But if you were to compare it to shopping in Iowa you might disagree. Some of the stores we went to were huge! The store was organized into floors! Each floor had a different category, such as the first floor was women’s, the second floor, men’s and the third floor was an accessory.  This made shopping much easier I think.

So, when you visit London and do not know what to do after you have sight seen all the amazing monuments check out these places and enjoy a little retail therapy.
