First/Second Day

On Tuesday, May 14th, the TCNJ Holocaust Study Tour group boarded a plane for Berlin. We didn't know each other, barely any of us slept, and the food was slightly unappetizing, but we landed in Berlin (slash Copenhagen) ready to take on Germany. Well, relatively. We realized at about 2 PM that it's difficult to explore a new city and then go on a walking tour with zero hours of sleep. But oh well. We managed.

The walking tour was very interesting, especially the parts about JFK and Reagan in the beginning, which showed America's place in a piece of German history. What was also interesting was seeing how buildings were preserved since WII. For instance, one building we saw still had bullet holes and burn marks on it from the Allies' invasion of Berlin.

After going out for a Turkish dinner and and pink raspberry beer, the Holocaust Study Tour www as way too ready to go to bed. We can't wait to experience the city with more energy!!
