On the second free day, we spent the entire day on excursions around the country. We did the Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Roman Bath tours, which were amazing. My favorite was our visit to Windsor Castle because I am an english major, so I have studied British Literature. Being able to stand where some of the most famous rulers in British history have stood was an amzing feeling. The church, St. George's, was beautifully constructed and I was dissapointed that I wasn't able to take pictures. Everything about it was breathtaking; the marble statues, the cieling, the altar, the enormous organ. I hope that the images remain in my head forever. Stonehenge was equally amazing in that it is one of the oldest hisorical sites in the world and not completely known to us even today. The mystery behind the stones was intruiging, and the information they did give us was very informative. The Roman Baths made me feel similarly because they were such an old structure and the mystery of them was exciting. Standing where the Romans once stood and examining the structures they built was amazing. I felt like I was a part of something after I visited these great places, and I was glad we decided to experience them all.
