Today has been a very busy day so far. We woke up bright and early to visit the Boqueria Market located near La Rambla. We saw many different types of meats, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and even candy. The meats were especially interesting because they sold just about every part of the cow you could think of-tongue, brain, stomach, etc. Lucky for us, we got a fruit tasting from one of the vendors. Our tour guide also gave us samples of their cured meat, which they call "jamon."
Next, we got all dressed up for a tour of Hotel Arts Barcelona, a five-star hotel and also the first Ritz-Carlton property in Europe built in 1994. We got to meet the General Manager as well as a lot of the crew. They were very nice and accommodating. They gave us tours of the absolutely stunning, luxurious hotel and even prepared cookies, pastries, and refreshments for us. This hotel is definitely one to remember, especially the beach and city views from the 31st floor.
Here, we are photoed with the Human Resources Director, Jordi Sata.
They even have a special thing for washing feet. It was very luxurious and beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. The whole ambiance of the hotel is very relaxing and gorgeous. It was definitely a site to see. Tomorrow, sadly, we will be officially leaving Barcelona and traveling to France! We are all super excited!
Adios Amigos!
