First day in France

By: Fiona Heilman

Today was our first day in France! We traveled about 5 hours total. We first stopped in Figures, Spain to get lunch and explore. Some of us went into the Dali Museum. It was very very interesting to say the least.  His art was truly original and different. We also met our tour guide for the rest of the trip, Diana. She is very sweet and will be very helpful in allowing us to gain all knowledge and experience on the rest of our journey.

After the art museum in Spain, we moved on to the olive oil in France. We tasted their different olive oils as well as balsamic vinegar. We learned the making process and had the opportunity to buy their different array of products.

After many hours of bus travel, we finally arrived at Hotel Bristol. We will only be staying here for the night because tomorrow we are travelling to Cannes, France for the Cannes Film Festival where we all hope we will see some celebrities!

Some of us got dinner at a local restaurant and had our first taste of French cuisine which was very delicious.

As part of the site seeing of the town, we saw the Palais de Papes. This was where the Pope use to stay when there were two popes and they lived in different cities.

Tomorrow will be a very long day but we are all very excited! Time to get some rest.

Au revoir!
