Last Day in Europe

By: Fiona Heilman

Sadly, our study abroad trip has come to a close. It has been an amazing journey. Today was the best way to spend the last day. We first went up to Mount Titlis in Engelberg to see the awesome views. We also went snow tubing and saw the glacier cave while we up there. It was so much fun!
Then, we traveled to Lucerne to visit the Eichhoff Brewery. We toured the facility and did beer tastings!
Lastly, we went to the Schweizerhof Hotel, a five star hotel in Lucerne. The General Manager's wife is actually a Georgia State Alumni! We toured the hotel, received a tasting in their wine cellar, and had our farewell dinner there. Everything was excellent, especially the food!

Words cannot even begin to describe our trip. We have all become one big family and it's going to be sad to leave beautiful Europe. However, there are definitely things we miss from back home! Wish us a safe journey back and we will see you soon!

Day 2: Switzerland

By: Fiona Heilman

Today, we first visited the KKL, which is the convention center for Lucerne. Unfortunately, pictures were not allowed inside the building but it was beautiful. We learned about what makes their concert hall, meeting rooms, and convention center so special. Things such as sound proof doorways, cotton curtains, and silent vents are some practices they do at the KKL to make the experience one to remember.

We visited the Lions Museum, which is a famous landmark in Lucerne.

We then took some free time in Lucerne to look around and do some shopping.

Afterwards, we headed to the Lucerne Casino to tour the place and learn about what they do. Again, pictures were not allowed inside but we did all learn how to play blackjack!

The days are dwindling down. Only tomorrow and the next day we head back to Atlanta. None of us want to leave! Switzerland is so refreshing and clean. The air is crisp and the water is a pretty, pure blue. It's been a great journey but it's not over yet, we still have a full day of fun events planned for tomorrow!
