It's hard to believe we will be leaving in four days! In just two hours we will have our pre-trip class, a full day in which we'll discuss some of the major themes we will explore together. What makes genocide possible? Are there conditions and circumstances common to most genocides?
After our course today, we'll all go home to pack and we meet at Kennedy airport on Friday evening for our journey to Yerevan, Armenia. We will study the genocide there, on the historic occasion of its centennial. From there we will visit Berlin, Germany; Prague, Czech Republic; and Krakow and Warsaw, Poland.
