Lights, Camera, Cannes & Chocolate... Ooo la la Perfume!

Ciao, we are coming to you live from Italy to update you on our past two adventurous days! 

Last night, we headed to the annual internationally known Cannes Film Festival where we endured the crowds to spot several international stars including known American Hollywood actors.

Featured below is the profile shot of Nicole Kidman and Ang Lee! Others also spotted Heidi Klum. 

Other than being star struck, we were able to oversee how cities such as Cannes prepare for an international event like the film festival in areas such as rooming (hotels), security, and operations of public facilities. 

 Today our stops included Masion Auer, a famous patisserie, known for their candied fruits like oranges, pears, and pineapple. We got to taste the delicious assortment of candied chesnuts and various chocolate truffles. Masion Auer still creates their sweet masterpieces by hand and has been operated under the "Auer" name for five generations. The location is original and features the tea room where Queen Victoria would come on holiday to enjoy the delicacies of Mr. Auer himself.

Before heading to Italy we concluded our time in France by visiting the Fraganard Perfumery. We toured and received an inside look to how this famous fragrance company creates their several scents. We learned that "the nose" is the master of the craft of creating fragrances. They have to attend one of the three perfume school located in France for three years then work for seven years, total of 10 years before being "certified". All "noses" work in secret to keep the formulas private. 

We are now on our next leg of the trip over in Mezzegra, Italy where we will cruise on Lake Como tomorrow to enjoy the views of lakeside mansions and cottages. Till tomorrow-
