While being in London, we got to experience new things like food and the different everyday things Londoners do that could be considered unusual to Americans.
My first day in London, I tried the infamous fish and chips. I'd have to say I didn't really see the appeal but I'm not much of a fish person. I also found it odd that mashed peas were served with fish and chips (fries).
The waiters/waitresses in London perform their services like taking orders and taking care of their tables somewhat differently than waiters/waitresses in America. They take your order for drinks and food all at once, which was different for me because felt a little rushed to figure out what I wanted to eat. Also, throughout the meal, they don't come around very often to see if anyone needs anything.
Ice in anything is hard to come by in London. And even when you ask for it you only get one or two pieces. Very weird for me because I like lots of ice in my drinks.
Going to a pub for dinner was also an experience for me because you order at the bar and there is a constant buzz of people . I had the Shepard's Pie and a pint. I went out on a limb with my order but it was well worth it!
I also tried hot tea with cream. Big difference from the iced sweet tea that I am used to.
