Dr. Sunderman explains travel accessories and safety. |
We’ve all had our photos taken for the bus/tram pass in
Strasbourg. We’ve also selected our
seats on the airplane and are busy making sure we have all our essentials (i.e.,
electric converters as well as radio frequency secure wallets). Dr. Sunderman went over security in our
initial meeting and suggested the secure wallets because there are pick-pockets
just waiting to take our IDs. There are
so many things to be aware of that I really never thought about. I guess I’m used to my small city living
where when you bump into someone you say “excuse me” and you don’t suspect they
just took your wallet or that they have a “gadget” that stole your credit card
number. All of these are definitely
important lessons to be learned prior to our actual travel. We are being made aware of security so that
we can enjoy the learning experience and not have to suffer a loss, so long as
we are prepared and always careful.
As the spring semester moves us closer to our summer abroad
travel, we continue to focus on the academic side, learning about the European
Union, how and when it was formed, it’s 27 partner countries and current events
in the area.
